She Said She Needed a Break

So this is very true. I can't WAIT for this weekend, wow. Last week has been this kind of hell, between three midterms and like four papers.

Death. Ugh.

But now, I just have 3 more classes to go, and if all fares well, I'll be heading down to UC for this fine Halloween weekend. We have tickets to see RENT on Saturday afternoon, and it's supposed to be absolutely amazing.

Adventure of the week: I baked my first pie. It was, needless to say, an experience. Somehow, an honors student with a gpa of 3.7 can't figure out how to make a roll-out crust stick to a pie tin and stay together. Talk about fail. But I think it came out ok, as I currently have a pumpkin pie sitting on my desk with the spicy aroma wafting continuously towards me. But alas, I must resist. I made the pie for Calvin, so I know he'll be real sad if I eat it before I get down to UC.

But it just smells so GOOD... maybe he won't notice a small piece.

Quote of the week:
Carolyn.. the Buddha is going to eat me. -- Caitlin McCann
Well, she was right. Buddha chewed me up and spat me back out in that last midterm I took. I keep getting the sinking feeling that I'll honestly be lucky to pass that class.

Ok, seeing as I've been screwing around on Blogger for the past two hours, I'm gonna peace out. However, [shameless plug] I just updated the Polaris blog, so you should check it out: http://www.polarismag.blogspot.com

Later kids.

Wednesday, Week 4

So. I've been asked to create a blog for Polaris, ONU's literary magazine as we're attempting to do something productive with the publication this year. Naturally, I create one for myself instead. I figure, I have to figure out how a blog actually WORKS before I set a professional one, right?

Who am I? I'm a sophomore at Ohio Northern University. I am a follower of the one and only Jesus Christ, involved in Kappa Phi (a women's service organization), Son's Rays (a capella ensemble), an avid soccer player and fan, and a lover of literature (don't judge). My boyfriend is a fantastic guy who goes to the University of Cincinnati as an Electrical Engineer. Been together quite a while now and so far, so good.

Anyways, to be honest with you? I'm not quite sure what the point of this blog is yet. Normally there's a purpose behind creating one of these, like to review literature, or to describe a project that's being worked on. Maybe my project is my life. So-- with every project comes goals, right?

Goal #1: Find a second major. One that will let me be fed. I'm thinking graphic design?
Goal #2: Get information on the study abroad trip to Cambridge
Goal #3: Finishing editing my midterm paper for Brit Lit
Goal #4: Actually understand Buddhism for the midterm on Friday
Goal #5: Stop being frustrated

Short term? Yes. Enough to handle right now? Probably more so.
